Cleaning modern glass office buildings.

Modern building techniques are enabling new office buildings to use more and more glass in their construction leading to spectacular and light filled buildings. From Le Louvre in Paris to the Foster's Gherkin building in London, glass is becoming more and more widespread making eye pleasing and work friendly offices but how do cleaning companies tackle cleaning these types of new buildings with vast expanses of glass and obtuse angles?

One method ICS Cleaning have long promoted is the reach and wash cleaning system firstly for it's environmental benefits over conventional glass cleaning systems (no cleaning chemicals) and this does work well but only for buildings up to 20 meters or so, with windows being cleaned via a telescopic waterfed pole with a brush attached and pumping purified water to clean the glass.

The advantages of this system are numerous as we've discussed here before, not least the fact that using purified water means less dirt is attracted to the windows therefore the glass stays cleaner for longer. It is also the safest way of cleaning glass as no ladders, harnesses, abseiling is involved and the cleaning is done by an operative on the ground.

However what about above 20 meters? Find out more about how to clean modern office buildings in part two
